Sublimation Printing Technology Used To Swimwear Manufacture

UNIJOY Swimwear always keep the technical updating, using the latest technology in order to produce the best swimwear for women, men and quality kids swimming suits. Sublimation Printing is one of the advanced technologies which are commonly used in swimwear industry now.

The dye-sublimation printing process is used to print on polyester or other synthetic fabrics. The pattern design of the swimsuits are originally printed on coated heat-resistant transfer paper as a reverse image of the final design, then they are transferred onto polyester fabric in a heat press operating at a temperature around 180 to 210 C (375 F). In the condition of high temperature and pressure, the dye turns into a gas and permeates the fabric and then solidifies into its fibers. Then the fabric is permanently dyed, it can be washed without damaging the quality of the images.

Advantages of Sublimation Printing Technology

• Deep color penetration for longer lasting which makes the swimwear has better looking.

• Dye does not build up on the fabric.

• Colors can be very bright due to the bonding of the dye to the transparent fibers of the synthetic fabric.

• Images can be printed all over the entire item, with no difficulty in printing all the way to the edges.

Disadvantages of Sublimation Printing Technology

• Only can be applied for the polyester/spandex fabric, it can’t be worked on the nylon/spandex fabric which is a very common fabric used in making bathing suits.

• The printer speed is low.

• Any creases in the apparel during printing leave blank spots behind.
